Winter Visitor Chiropractor in Mesa: Snowbird Care Without the Waitlist
Every fall, East Mesa comes alive. RV resorts fill up, golf courses get busy, and license plates from Minnesota, Iowa, Alberta, and Saskatchewan start appearing along the Power Road corridor. Winter visitors are part of what makes this community what it is, and we look forward to welcoming familiar faces back every season.
If you are one of Mesa's snowbirds, here is a question worth asking before the season gets rolling: what is your plan for keeping up your chiropractic care while you are here? At Kenney Chiropractic and Massage Therapy, we have been the winter home for visiting patients' spines for decades. Here is how to make care easy from November through April.
Why winter visitors should not press pause on care
Plenty of snowbirds have a chiropractor back home they see regularly. Then winter comes, they head south, and care stops for five or six months. That gap has consequences.
Consider what winter in Mesa actually involves:
- The trip itself. Two or three days in a car or RV seat, or a long flight, is a classic recipe for a stiff back and neck on arrival.
- A sudden jump in activity. Golf several times a week, pickleball, hiking, shuffleboard, dancing, swimming. Wonderful for your health, and demanding on a spine that spent the fall less active.
- Different beds and furniture. A new mattress and unfamiliar chairs can stir up aches, especially in the first few weeks.
If regular adjustments are part of how you stay comfortable at home, staying consistent through the winter may help you get more out of the season you came here to enjoy. Many of our winter patients tell us the visit they schedule right after arriving is the one that sets up their whole season.
No waitlist, no new-patient bottleneck: walk-ins welcome
Here is the frustration winter visitors run into all over the Valley: they call an office in November and hear that the practice is not taking new patients until January, or that the first available appointment is three weeks out. When you are only here for a season, weeks on a waitlist are weeks of your winter gone.
Our office solves this in the simplest possible way. Chiropractic care at Kenney Chiropractic is always walk-in. No appointment, no waitlist, no "new patient backlog." Whether you are a returning winter regular or brand new to us, you can come in today during open hours and be seen. We are open Tuesday through Saturday, with Saturday mornings available for weeks that fill up with tee times.
Massage therapy is the one service we book by appointment, through MassageBook, so you can reserve a session with one of our licensed therapists whenever your calendar allows.
Most insurance accepted, including many Medicare plans
Winter visitors often assume that seeing a provider away from home means paying cash. Often, it does not.
We accept most major insurance plans. Medicare Part B, which covers medically necessary spinal adjustments, travels with you anywhere in the United States, and many Medicare Advantage and supplement plans work here as well. Coverage details vary by plan, so bring your cards to your first visit or call us at (480) 641-5516 ahead of time and our front desk will verify your benefits for you. For Canadian visitors and anyone whose plan does not apply, our cash rates are affordable, with no memberships and nothing to cancel when you head north.
A familiar kind of doctor's office
Dr. Michael Kenney has practiced in Mesa since 1985. Forty years in one community means our office runs the way many winter visitors remember doctors' offices running back home: the same doctor every visit, staff who learn your name, and care that is never rushed or salesy.
We are also equipped to be your complete stop for the season. Along with adjustments, our office offers licensed massage therapy, rolling table therapy, EMS, moist heat, and on-site digital X-ray, so if something needs a closer look, it happens here rather than at a facility across town. If you would like us to coordinate with your chiropractor back home, we are glad to. Records can be shared both directions so your care stays seamless year-round.
You will find us at 20 S. Power Rd., Suite 102, Mesa, AZ 85206, just off the US 60. We are minutes from Leisure World, Sunland Village, Superstition Springs, and the RV resorts along the East Mesa and Apache Junction corridor.
Frequently asked questions
Can I see you as a new patient in the middle of winter?
Yes, any time. Because we are a walk-in practice, there is no waitlist at any point in the season. November or February, just come in.
Will my Medicare or insurance from another state work in Mesa?
Original Medicare works nationwide for covered chiropractic services, and many other plans do too. Bring your insurance cards, or call (480) 641-5516 before you come in and we will check your benefits for you.
Can you send records to my chiropractor back home?
Absolutely. With your authorization, we will share your visit records so your home chiropractor can pick up right where we left off in the spring.
